Corado II und Otello use a stick to reach food

The Freiberger gelding Corado II (born:1988, F: Cojack, M: Diana) uses a stick to reach food underneath the hay barn. He takes the stick with his mouth, and drives it into the gap underneath the hay barn wall. His stable mate, the mule Otello (born: 2000, F: Zecchino, M: Clarissa), at first only benefited from the behaviour by scrounging the food from Corado. However, when Corado was absent for some time because of illness, Otello started showing the same behaviour. Otello and Corado are kept in group stabling, have access to group pasture every day and receive 3 - 7 kg hay daily.
